About

I’m a simple Christian or simply Christian, if you prefer.

You’ll find here over 200 posts of some of my most recent musings on Jesus and living in such a way as to bring him pleasure. I make no claim to be entirely accurate in all of my assumptions. That’s why I call them musings. I invite you to interact with me, question my conclusions, and share your ideas which may be better than mine. Though I’ve been a follower of Jesus and pastor/teacher of the Bible for over four decades I could be wrong in some of what I believe. Don’t take my word for it, do your own study of the Bible and ask the Spirit for guidance.

    LONELY TEARDROPS
A young woman asked for prayer,
    My question prompted a stare.
“If Jesus stood here out of the blue,
What would you like him to do?”
She replied with a simple plea,
    She softly whispered, “Hug me.”
    I was broken in two,
    My heart pierced through.
    Hard not to cry,
    Looking for wings to fly.
Words that brought me to my knees,
    Praying for a holy breeze.
A cloud of sadness over her head,
A lonely woman trying not to wake up dead.
Mary and I prayed best we could,
At the foot of the cross we stood.
I walked away with the sky crying,
Thought of Jesus and His dying.
Were His teardrops on my face,
Beyond grateful to have been in that place.
Blessed to have this woman’s back,
Though the right words I surely lack.
I place her needs at the throne of grace,
    The ultimate celestial place.
Trusting Jesus was in that space,
And the last lonely teardrop on her face

    TEARS
    Nothing else to do,
    Nowhere else to go.
So Jesus I turn to You,
    Though much I’ll never know.
    Brokenness I long for,
    Take me to the floor.
Like Mary, I sit at Your feet,
Waiting for our eyes to meet.
I pray for aborted children, our national disgrace,
Wondering whose tears are on my face?

    STONES
    JESUS, I run to you,
    Out of the blue.
A Christian and an Old Testament Jew,
    Clearly broken way in two.
In the darkness, demons through and through,
So I run to Faithful and True.
Before I’m gone without a trace,
I need Your tears on my face,
Calling on You is my plan,
The desperate cry of a simple man.
No need for evidence that is empirical,
All I need is a miracle.
    Out of time, and obsolete,
I need to be at Your feet.
Seems I’ll never get past the Cross,
Devastated by the measure of Your loss.
    Motives far from pure,
    You are the only cure.
Like Thomas, I need to touch,
    My faith, not very much.
    Doubts rule my soul,
    Never really whole.
Feel like I’m simply on loan,
    Waiting for my tombstone.
Thoughts that cut to the bone,
When all I need, is the Cornerstone.

    RUNAWAY

My walk seems to be a run,
    Always feeling over and done.
    I run ahead of You,
    Faithful and True.
I run when I should walk,
Hurtful words when I shouldn’t talk.
    I run away,
    When I should stay.
    I run for cover,
    Not to my Eternal Lover.
Running on empty I seem to do,
When I should, run to You.

    A TRAIL OF TEARS
    PREBORN CHILDREN FROM ABOVE,
    ALWAYS BEEN MY FIRST LOVE.
    GONE FOR GOOD,
    GONE FOREVER.
    IF ONLY I HAD STOOD,
    SHOULD HAVE SAID, “NEVER!”
    EVIDENCE OF MY WORST FEARS,
    THE TRACKS OF MY TEARS.
    TRYING ON MY OWN
ENDING WITH A SIGH AND A MOAN.
MY HOPE IN GOD I SHOULD HAVE PINNED,
ACTING ALONE, TRYING TO CATCH THE WIND.
    SHOULD HAVE TURNED TO YOU,
    INSTEAD OF TURNING AWAY.
    WOULD NOT NOW BE BLUE,
IF I HAD STAYED IN THE FRAY.
THE WORDS JUST BEYOND MY REACH,
    IF ONLY I COULD TEACH.
ACROSS OUR NATION I WOULD RANGE,
PRAYING FOR, THE WINDS OF CHANGE.

    SILENT TEARS
A child hanging by a thread,
    Eventually waking up dead.
    Abortion taking its toll,
    On the American soul.
    The American heart beyond black,
A terminated child never to be taken back.
The choice is between a doctor and a mother,
Sadly forgets there is one other.
    Our moral compass upside down,
    Heading South in every town.
Church leaders rarely say a word,
Those who speak are not heard.
Christians forget who they work for,
Need to turn and look at the Door.
    Never, ever let it be,
    Avoid a rendezvous with destiny.
    No words, nothing at all,
    Silent tears begin to fall.

    The Ultimate Fear
    Children in the starting gate,
    Unaware of their fate.
    How can it be,
A life they will never see.
    Desecration of God’s creation,
Leading to the end of our nation.
    Tables turned upside down,
In innocent blood our children drown.
    “Justice” is a lost word,
A soaring eagle just a bird.
    America runs against the wind,
    Our arrogance a national sin.
    My fear of fears,
    To run out of tears.
